About Me

About Me

In early 2013 I was leading my company's team supporting the National Security Agency - Hawaii location and hired Edward Snowden to work as an intelligence analyst. Less than two months later, he disappeared for weeks only to resurface in Hong Kong and as the man behind the largest security breach in U.S. history. This event threw my life and career into crisis, yet coming out of it I found it had made me stronger and more resilient. I now share my story and the lessons learned about Crisis Management, protecting from Insider Threats, and Cybersecurity with organizations world-wide.

I have over 20 years of professional experience in cybersecurity and intelligence. My career began in the U.S. Air Force where I served the NSA as a Persian-Farsi Linguist. While in that role, I evolved into a network security intelligence analyst. Following my separation from the Air Force, I joined Booz Allen Hamilton and continued to support the Agency as a cyber intelligence analyst and where I employed Ed Snowden. This event resulted in my transition to the private sector where I've served as an Information Security Consultant and CISO.

I live outside of Boise, Idaho with my beautiful wife and I am blessed to have five children. Beyond public speaking, my passions are learning and reading about global affairs, religion, and cybersecurity. My hobbies are fly-fishing, boating, and spending my weekends outdoors.
